See for yourself...

Take a virtual tour around this historic house.

Plas Yn Rhiw – Our first multilingual tour!

This is a delightful National Trust manor house with ornamental garden and wonderful views that you can now walk through virtually.

Originally this virtual tour was created to allow access to the first and second floor of the house for those that couldn’t manage the stairs. As we knew the tour would only be seen internally via iPads on site we set about building a navigation that had big, easily clickable buttons rather than our standard tours built primarily for desktop computer use. In each room several objects were highlighted that a tour guide would typically point out to visitors, we even made the a couple of wardrobe doors open when you click them!

Multilingual challenge

The biggest challenge for this tour was it had to be in both English and Welsh. We had never created a multilingual virtual tour before but the end result is fantastic! From any point in the tour you click the flags in the top right and all your instructions and information popups change to the chosen language. We believe this is one of the first of it’s kind in the world!

The tour is in use on site and will also now be added to the webpage very soon.
